What are the Works of Mercy?

Jesus’ Call to Mercy

“I demand from you deeds of mercy, which are to arise out of love for Me. You are to show mercy to your neighbors always and everywhere. You must not shrink from this or try to excuse or absolve yourself from it.
I am giving you three ways of exercising mercy toward your neighbor:
the first — by deed, the second — by word, the third — by prayer. In these three degrees is contained the fullness of mercy, and it is an unquestionable proof of love for Me. By this means a soul glorifies and pays reverence to My mercy.
Many souls … are often worried because they do not have the material means with which to carry out an act of mercy. Yet spiritual mercy, which requires neither permissions nor storehouses, is much more meritorious and is within the grasp of every soul.
If a soul does not exercise mercy somehow or other, it will not obtain My mercy on the day of judgment. Oh, if only souls knew how to gather eternal treasure for themselves, they would not be judged, for they would forestall My judgment with their mercy” (1317).

What are the Works of Mercy?

Spiritual Works

What is the Divine Mercy?

In 1933, God gave Sister Faustina a striking vision of His Mercy, Sister tells us:
“I saw a great light, with God the Father in the midst of it. Between this light and the earth I saw Jesus nailed to the Cross and in such a way that God, wanting to look upon the earth, had to look through Our Lord’s wounds and I understood that God blessed the earth for the sake of Jesus.”
Of another vision on Sept. 13, 1935, she writes:
“I saw an Angel, the executor of God’s wrath… about to strike the earth…I began to beg God earnestly for the world with words which I heard interiorly. As I prayed in this way, I saw the Angel’s helplessness, and he could not carry out the just punishment….”
The following day an inner voice taught her to say this prayer on ordinary rosary beads:
“First say one ‘Our Father’, ‘Hail Mary’, and ‘I believe’.
Then on the large beads say the following words:
‘Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.’
On the smaller beads you are to say the following words:
‘For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world.’
In conclusion you are to say these words three times:
‘Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world’.
Jesus said later to Sister Faustina:
“Say unceasingly this chaplet that I have taught you. Anyone who says it will receive great Mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as the last hope. Even the most hardened sinner, if he recites this Chaplet even once, will receive grace from My Infinite Mercy. I want the whole world to know My Infinite Mercy. I want to give unimaginable graces to
those who trust in My Mercy….”
“….When they say this Chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person not as the just judge but as the Merciful Savior”.
Christ died so that you might live

PRAYER IN TIME OF DIFFICULTIES IN LIFE

Image may contain: sky, twilight, text and nature
Dear Lord,
In this time of uncertainty,
Be my rock in a world built on sand;
Be my oasis of grace and peace in a world of tension and turmoil;
Help me to carry my cross gracefully, as you did in Your Passion;
Help me to follow Your beam of light in the midst of this darkness;
Help me to see Your will in all things
And show others Your comfort and strength.
Keep me calm when tempers flare up;
Keep me sane in a crazy world;
Keep me focused on the houses in Heaven
rather than the houses of cards collapsing around me;
Keep my eyes focused on the prize of Heaven
and not lose hope in You in this world or in the world to come;
Make me compassionate in dealing with others;
Let me see my travails as carrying my cross and sharing in Your Passion, for the love of You and for the salvation of souls, including mine.
And may all my difficulties be ultimately for my good and Your glory. Amen.

Psalm 34:18 ‘THE LORD IS CLOSE TO THE BROKEN HEARTED

Psalm 34:18
‘The LORD is close to the broken-hearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.’
🌸 There are many things in life that can cause us a broken heart.
🌸 In the rush of life, those who feel crushed, may withdraw into the shadows.
🌸 But the Lord will come and seek you out and stay close to you.
🌸 He can take what is hurt, broken and crushed and heal and restore it!

Prayer:
Lord, what a joy it is to know that You know everything about me. You know the issues and hopes that are deep within my heart. You are close to me when I am at my lowest and You step in and rescue me. In the Name of Jesus. Amen

PRAYER FOR SUCCESS AT WORK TO SAINT JOSEPH

Glorious St. Joseph,

Model of all those who are devoted to labor,

obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously,

putting the call of duty above my many sins;

to work with thankfulness and joy,

considering it an honor to employ and develop,

by means of labor, the gifts received from God;

to work with order, peace, prudence and patience,

never surrendering to weariness or difficulties;

to work, above all, with purity of intention,

and with detachment from self,

having always death before my eyes and

the account which I must render of time lost,

of talents wasted, of good omitted,

of vain complacency in success

so fatal to the work of God.

All for Jesus, all for Mary, all after thy example,

O Patriarch Joseph.

Such shall be my motto in life and death.

Amen.

Warning Against the Invitation of Sinful Men

Read this Bible Verses and be aware of the snares of bad influences of other people in our lives...

Proverbs 1:8-19

Warning Against the Invitation of Sinful Men

8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
9 They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.
10 My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them.
11 If they say, “Come along with us; let’s lie in wait for innocent blood, let’s ambush some harmless soul;
12 let’s swallow them alive, like the grave, and whole, like those who go down to the pit;
13 we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder;
14 cast lots with us; we will all share the loot”—
15 my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths;
16 for their feet rush into evil, they are swift to shed blood.
17 How useless to spread a net where every bird can see it!
18 These men lie in wait for their own blood; they ambush only themselves!

19 Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the life of those who get it.

WARNING ABOUT HOW CATHOLICS SHOULD CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN

Halloween or Hallowe'en, also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows' Eve, or All Saints' Eve, is a celebration observed in several countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. Wikipedia
DateThursday, 31 October 2019 Trending
ObservancesChurch services, prayer, fasting, and vigil
SignificanceFirst day of Allhallowtide
Observed byWestern Christians and many non-Christians around the world
Also calledHallowe'en, Allhallowe'en, All Hallows' Eve, All Saints' Eve

We Catholics should be careful on how we should celebrate Halloween, especially that it involves the kids.Read on below to know the consequences  an exorcist priest explained...

An exorcist’s perspective
Father Vincent Lampert is a Vatican-trained exorcist and a parish priest of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis who travels the country, speaking about his work as an exorcist and what people can do to protect themselves against the demonic.
He said when deciding what to do about Halloween, it’s important for parents to remember the Christian origins of the holiday and to celebrate accordingly, rather than in a way that glorifies evil.
“Ultimately I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the kids putting on a costume, dressing up as a cowboy or Cinderella, and going through the neighborhood and asking for candy; that’s all good clean fun,” Fr. Lampert said.
Even a sheet with some holes cut in it as a ghost is fine, Fr. Lampert said.
The danger lies in costumes that deliberately glorify evil and instill fear in people, or when people pretend to have special powers or dabble in magic and witchcraft, even if they think it’s just for entertainment.
“In the book of Deuteronomy, in chapter 18, it talks about not trying to consult the spirits of the dead, not consulting those who dabble in magic and witchcraft and the like,” he said, “because it’s a violation of a church commandment that people are putting other things ahead of their relationship with God.”
“And that would be the danger of Halloween that somehow God is lost in all of this, the religious connotation is lost and then people end up glorifying evil.”
It’s also important to remember that the devil and evil spirits do not actually have any additional authority on Halloween, Fr. Lampert said, and that it only seems that way.
“It’s because of what people are doing, not because of what the devil is doing. Perhaps by the way they’re celebrating that day, they’re actually inviting more evil into our lives,” he said.
One of the best things parents can do is to use Halloween as a teachable moment, Fr. Lampert said.
“A lot of children are out celebrating Halloween, perhaps evil is being glorified, but we’re not really sitting around and talking about why certain practices are not conducive with our Catholic faith and our Catholic identity. I think using it as a teachable moment would be a great thing to do.”

ALL SAINTS DAY- INCORRUPTIBLE SAINTS

THE INCORRUPTIBLE SAINTS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
 (all are great Marian devotees true followers of Jesus Christ Rev 12:17)

All Saints Day Special

"You will not allow your holy one to see corruption" - Psalm 16:10

The Incorruptibles are saints whose bodies are miraculously preserved after death, defying the normal process of decomposition. St. Cecilia is probably the first saint known to be incorrupt, but the bodies of these saints can be found in many places throughout the world.
They are not like mummies, for their skin is soft and their limbs pliable, nothing at all like the dry, skeletal remains of mummies. Under usual circumstances, nothing at all has been done to preserve the bodies of these saints. In fact, some of them have been covered in quicklime, which should have easily destroyed any human remains, yet it has no effect of these saints. Many of them also give off a sweet, unearthly odor, and others produce blood or oils that defy any scientific explanation.

Incorruptibility is a Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox belief that supernatural (or Godly) intervention allows some human bodies (specifically saints) to avoid the normal process of decomposition after death as a sign of their holiness. Bodies that reportedly undergo little or no decomposition, or delayed decomposition, are sometimes referred to as incorrupt or incorruptible.

In the mystery of our Catholic Faith, if a body remains incorruptible after death, this is generally seen as a sign that the individual is a saint. Not every saint, however, is expected to have an incorruptible corpse. Although incorruptibility is recognized as supernatural, it is no longer counted as a miracle in the recognition of a saint.

Embalmed bodies were not recognized as incorruptibles. For example, while the body of Pope John XXIII remained in a remarkably intact state after its exhumation, Church officials quickly remarked that the body had been embalmed and additionally there was a lack of oxygen in his sealed triple coffin.

Incorruptibility is seen as distinct from the good preservation of a body, or from mummification. Incorruptible bodies are often said to have the odor of sanctity, exuding a sweet or floral, pleasant aroma.

Challenge or ask any Protestant or any none Catholics if they found any supernaturally incorrupt bodies of any members of their group or sect? they will give you a blank stare..because there are NONE!!

It is interesting to know that there are 250 known Catholic saints whose body are incorruptibles there were many more but during the Protestant revolution many of the incorruptible were destroyed or burnt by the protestants:

Psalm 91- Prayer For Protection From The Bible At This Time of Pandemic

📙 Let us read and say this protection prayer from the Bible. In this time of Covid19 pandemic,let this be our reflection of trust in God's love and mercy upon us. Let God's word build our trust in Him and let it embrace us as our shield and protection...🙏 🕯 ♥

Psalm 91
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.

LOVING MOTHER, PLEASE HELP US IN OUR NEEDS

LOVING MOTHER, PLEASE HELP US IN OUR NEEDS

Dear Mother of Perpetual Help
 from the cross  Jesus gave you to us for our Mother.
 You are the kindest, the most loving of all mothers.
 Look tenderly on us your children
as we now ask you to help us in all our needs
 especially this one (Pause to recall your petitions).
While you were on earth, dear Mother
you willingly shared in the sufferings of your Son.
 Strengthened by your faith and confidence
 in the fatherly love of God
you accepted the mysterious designs of His Will.
 We, too, have our crosses and trials.
Sometimes they almost crush us to the ground.
 Dearest Mother,
 share with us your abundant faith and confidence in God.
 Make us aware that God never ceases to love us;
that He answers all our prayers
 in the way that is best for us.
Strengthen our hearts to carry the cross
in the footsteps of your Divine Son.
Help us to realize  that he who shares the cross of Christ
 will certainly share His resurrection.
Dearest Mother,
as we worry about our own problems
 let us not forget the needs of others.
 You always love others so much;
 help us to do the same.
While praying for our own intentions
 and for the intentions of all here present at this Novena
 we earnestly ask you, our Mother
 to help us comfort the sick and the dying
give hope to the poor and unemployed
heal the brokenhearted
 walk in solidarity with the oppressed
 teach justice to their oppressors
and bring back to God all those who have offended Him.
Dearest Mother,
 help us to avoid sin  which separates us
 from our heavenly Father and from one another.
Full of trust in you, we place ourselves under the mantle of your maternal protection
and confidently hope for your compassionate intercession.
Amen.
