Hail Mary

A Roman Catholic prayer to the Virgin Mary that consists of salutations and a plea for her intercession.

The Hail Mary (Latin: Ave Maria) is a traditional Scripture-based Catholic prayer of praise for and petition to the Mother of God. Since the sixteenth century, the Roman Catholic version of the prayer closes with an appeal for her intercession.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace,

The LORD is with you,

Blessed are you among women,

Blessed is the Fruit of your Womb, JESUS.

Holy Mary, Mother of GOD,

Pray for us Sinners,

Now and at the time of our death, Amen.
